Abstract

La investigación se centra en el contenido y alcance que tiene el derecho a la libertad de expresión en el Sistema Interamericano de Protección de Derechos Humanos, a través de la jurisprudencia emitida por la Corte, se hace énfasis en la trascendencia que tiene el respeto a este derecho como piedra angular en la construcción de las democracias de los países latinoamericanos, a través de la defensa de los dos pilares fundamentales de la democracia, como son el derecho a expresarse libremente y el derecho de recibir información. - - The research focuses on the content and scope that has the right to freedom of expression in the Inter-American System of Human Rights, through the jurisprudence of the Court, intemphasize the importance that respect for this right as the cornerstone in building democracies in Latin American countries, through respect of the two pillars of democracy such as the right to free speech and the right to receive information.
